We all love the web, but are often given the pleasure or forced into designing outside that medium (depending how you look at it). Brand logos and business cards are of the most common tasks given to the traditional web designer – right or wrong, amazing things can come from the truly creative. At nclud, we realize and highly value the importance of a creative brand and ensuring that creativity transcends throughout. When you are away from the computer and at an event like SXSW, or any event for that matter, your business card becomes your creative identity. We often spend so much time on our websites and online portfolios we ignore the obvious. We, nclud, put a lot of time and effort into our cards; knowing that we are a creative agency, we had to ensure that everything we did screamed creativity! So, asking for and trading business cards were much more than simply a networking initiative — it was a learning and design exploration experience.

Curious about the redesign? It's more of a design satire then a reflection of personal taste: Read More
I hadn’t actually thought about putting much time or effort into my business cards preferring to go the simple black and white route but i think i may just expend a little energy on this in the future, good article.
Made me think and i’m really lazy so it has to be good to do that.
Your business card can be so crucial to your business — it really is a part of your identity. It is an amazing little tool that can’t be ignored or passed-by. Glad the article helped!
Hey Martin, thanks for the praise - we even punch those holes out ourselves ;) Your cards look great as well.
Nice! I certainly receive my fair share of cards every event and few really do stand out, those that do make a impact are usually the creative agencies.
That is what I think made this so much fun — most of the cards we had to choose from are from creative types.
Still what sells the company in the end isn’t the card, but its the person who the card belongs to.
Great point — I think that is true for almost everything. Your website, business card and diverse marketing initiatives help make the sale but are NOT the sale.
I’m just working on our business cards now, looked at Moo, looked at ways to make business cards more personal and useful. Feeling very inspired about joining the business card market ;)
Natalie,
It is a fun process for sure — good luck!
