CSS Mania (www.cssmania.com) announces the first “CSS World Awards”. The CSS World Awards were created to “recognize the work done by developers that build websites using CSS”. A most impressive roll-call of judges, including Andy Budd, Cameron Moll, Molly Holzschlag, Roger Johansson, Sergio Villareal, choose ten websites in ten different categories. The categories include: associations, blogging, business, entertainment, institutions, media, portal, web design and web tools.

I’d like to send a special congratulation to Alex at www.cssbeauty.com for a job well done. His site has proved to be a source of inspiration and information for most of us in the community and the acknowledgement is well deserved.

Wow, really cool idea and something that should have been done a while ago. I am a huge fan of Dan Cederholm (www.simplebits.com) so I am glad that he has been recognized for his work. Congrats to the others as well that were awarded the various categories.
I completely agree. I don’t really care who puts this together or who wins — the big thing is having something for companies to aspire too! I am tired of everyone talking about the “Webby” they won 5 years ago.
I really hope more awards like this arise and help push the standards movement.
I agree, if more and more people can do things like this to push standards, then more and more people will adopt standards. In the end, hopefully people will see the real meaning behind an award which WHAT they did not WHO did it.
Perfectly said.
